From early 2017 to now, Phu Tho hospital has used more than 13 000 units of red blood cells and nearly 10 000 units of fresh frozen plasma for treatment of related diseases. Each month, the Center for Hematology - Blood Transfusion of the provincial hospital receives and treats inpatients 200 - 250 patients with new blood diseases such as Thalassemia, thrombocytopenia, leukemia, marrow failure ... The need for emergency blood is also on the rise, with blood and blood products only meeting about 60% of the need. Meanwhile, some intensive blood tests have not been done due to the lack of equipment. In addition, the provincial hospital must also supply blood to 11 district hospitals. At the ceremony, representatives of the three parties including Phu Tho Provincial Health Department, Provincial General Hospital and the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion have signed cooperation agreements including human resource training, technology transfer, material facilities, equipment upgrades, medical services from afar.
 

In that, the two sides agreed, in 2018 will deploy training packages include: blood clotting package; blood hemoglobin assay, quality management of organ transplantation; hemodialysis blood chemistry, chemo; hemorrhoids treatment, platelets, blood plasma exchange treatment in patients with blood diseases; Diagnostic and therapeutic packages for Thalassemia; Diagnosis and treatment package for bone marrow. On the side of Phu Tho hospital, human resources now meet the requirements. In terms of facilities, the hospital is willing to invest more equipment and upgrade the information technology system to bring maximum efficiency when deploying technical packages.
 

After the signing ceremony, the mission of the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion has carried out a survey of the hematological status and blood transfusion at the provincial general hospital.
